Dominic Cummings has published a slew of bombshell WhatsApp messages, pictures of pandemic graphs and indictments of the government’s handling of the pandemic in his latest substack. Read it all here.
One WhatsApp screenshot shows the PM calling PPE a “disaster” and considering replacing Matt Hancock with Michael Gove. “Wtf do we do?”, the PM asks Cummings.
Cummings messaged the PM in late March about how the US was speeding ahead with testing while Hancock was failing to up capacity. “Totally f***ing hopeless” was Johnson’s reply.
Another shows Johnson directly blaming the ventilator shortage on the health secretary: “It’s Hancock. He has been hopeless”.
