Whatever else 2022 may have in store – continuing pandemic issues, inflation, dangerous problems in global geopolitics – one certainty is the need to rationalise the UK’s energy policy. It is almost massaging the harsh reality to speak of an energy policy in the context of Britain since it is difficult to discern anything quite so coherent amid the chaotic mess that is our ongoing energy crisis.
