Gott in Himmel, what a mess.

What looks to be a catastrophic reporting blunder by the German press on the quality of the AstraZeneca jab has drawn a furious response from Britain and added an extra dimension of embarrassment to the continent’s vaccine woes.  

Two daily newspapers, Handelsblatt and Bild, have both cited an assessment by unnamed German government officials as saying that the AstraZeneca vaccine had poor efficacy in the over-65s. Handelsblatt put the figure at 8 per cent, Bild at “less than 10 per cent.”
