Poor Jeremy Corbyn. After a long period of political wins where he has been able to bask in the adulation of his adoring admirers, he’s now facing sustained criticism and pressure. The Corbyn cult is as strong as ever, and the increased aggression and anger of his twitchy social media trolls just goes to show what a bad time Corbyn is having. As he fends off accusations that he’s soft on racism against Jews, they’re getting nervous that some of the negative publicity might begin to tarnish their idol’s public image.
His pitiful response to the antisemitism furore has been telling. Corbyn is unwilling to stand up to the racist elements in his party, and his supporters have shown their true colours be rejoicing that the polls have yet to show a dip in support. Surely when it comes to racism it’s a matter of morality and principle? Not for the Corbyn cultists, all that matters to them is the realisation of a Marxist dream.
The fact is that the increased presence of anti-Semitism is a direct consequence of Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership. He is willing to tolerate and/or overlook antisemitism in people who align with his anti-Western, anti-Israel beliefs. His conspiratorial worldview – integral to the ideology of the Far Left – goes hand in hand with an antisemitic worldview. Wherever you find conspiracy about a global capitalist establishment and grievance about being out of the mainstream, you’ll soon find resentment against the Jew.
The latest news is that Israeli Labor Party is severing ties with the UK Labour Party as a direct result of his leadership. It is astonishing and sad. UK Labour – which played an active role in the formation of Israel – has had a long tradition of cooperation with the Israeli Labor. Now, the latter has accused Jeremy Corbyn of hostility towards Jews, allowing “anti-Semitic statements and actions” and showing “very public hatred” of the security policies of the state Israel.
This comes after Corbyn has admitted to ‘pockets’ of antisemitism in the Labour Party (examples of some, ahem, ‘pockets’ here) in reaction to Jewish groups holding a protest outside parliament.
There has still been no date set for the Labour leader to meet the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) and the Board of Deputies of British Jews, but he did have time to meet radical Far Left “Jewdas” in Islington, which has called for the destruction of Israel.
Another bad day at the office for Jeremy. Still, at least he can rely on the immediate back-up of his zealous worshippers, and the inaction of the Labour moderates. And he can even now enjoy the support of former Nick Griffin, the ex leader of the far-right British National Party, who endorsed him today.
Every cloud.
