Orazio Gultieri founded his curtain track design business, Byron & Byron, in 1984, and ships around a tenth of his products to Europe. His is one business, however, looking to turn away from the EU market rather than register there.
“It’s not worth it – the red tape, the taxation, it’s mind boggling”, he says. The company is looking to America to secure long-term trade. “I see half of the business in this company being done with the American market in two years’ time.”
