Over 32 million adults over the age of 50 will be offered a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna jab in a booster vaccination programme which will begin next week.
The programme is seen by Boris Johnson as a bulwark against a “prolonged and unpredictable” winter. The government expects the timetable to conclude by Christmas.
