Speaking years later about the Beatles arriving in America for the first time, Ringo Starr described the band’s heightened sense of expectation aboard Pan Am Flight 101 on that day in February 1963.
“It was so exciting,” said Ringo. “On the plane, flying in to the airport, I felt as though there was a big octopus with tentacles that were grabbing the plane and dragging us down and into New York. America was the best.”
