The Time of Our Singing, which premiered at La Monnaie/De Munt, Brussels, on 24 September, tells a story of turbulent US race relations starting from the moment fabled contralto Marian Anderson, an African American, sang in a concert in front of the Lincoln Memorial in 1939.
