Podcast: Rory Stewart talks no deal and leadership
For this special episode of the Reaction podcast I interviewed Rory Stewart in his office at the Commons.
Listen here.
You have to hand it to Stewart. His campaign for the Tory leadership has been one of the bright spots of what has been, so far, a fairly tame Westminster contest. I was a sceptic on his approach to social media and touring the country. But he has generated considerable energy and interest.
Winning the support of MPs to make it through next week will be tough.
On the podcast we talk Brexit and why he hates no deal. But Stewart explains what he would do if the EU forces the UK out on October 31st. He has an interesting and patriotic answer.
He’s running, he claims, as the only responsible fiscal conservative in the race. I enjoyed the conversation a lot, even if I don’t buy his approach on Brexit. Have a listen.
