Daily Briefing: Up to 100,000 nurses in England, Wales and Northern Ireland from Britain’s biggest nursing union have staged their first ever nationwide strike.
Steve Barclay, the Health Secretary, met the boss of the Royal College of Nursing today for crisis talks as nurses across the country prepare to go on strike within weeks.
Nurses will decide this week whether to strike for the first time in the profession’s history.
