The Covid war must not be followed by a big state Attlee-style peace

A snapshot of this moment in history would show the developed world ridden by two parallel conflicts: one is the culture war being waged so venomously, especially in the United States; the other is the enduring antithesis between free market and corporatist concepts of economic management. While the latter confrontation may be generating fewer headlines in the current phase of the Covid-19 crisis, it is assuming major significance for Britain.
