Vaccine passports for crowded indoor settings “haven’t been ruled out forever” by the government, according to the Work and Pensions Secretary.

Therese Coffey said a formal decision has not yet been made. Her comments appear to contradict those made by Sajid Javid, the health secretary, who told the Andrew Marr Show the policy had been scrapped.

Coffey told Sky News: “The Health Secretary indicated that although we have not made a formal decision, that he does not think it is necessary for the vaccine passports to be introduced by the end of the month.”
