It’s hardly any wonder why people are so cynical about politicians.
The scene was the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona. Donald Trump was holding one of his bigger rallies of 2024. The place was packed. Outside, lines had formed in the 104-degree heat as people waited to get a seat. Inside the stage was set. Huge video screens played high-energy campaign videos. It would not have seemed that strange if heavy men in Lycra had run out and wrestled each other to submission. Instead, it was time for Donald Trump to go his usual twenty rounds wrestling the English language until it was dazed and ready to drop.
