Donald Trump will have to find a new hobby – his blogging days are over.

CNBC reports that the blog, “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump, has been scrapped less than a month after launching. The website was a workaround solution to the former president’s indefinite ban from virtually all major social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter. Jason Miller, Trump’s aide, after confirming that the blog would not be returning, said: “It was just an auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on,” but could not offer any additional details.

Responding to speculation that the blog’s sudden demise paved the way for Trump joining another social media platform, Miller tweeted: “Yes, actually, it is. Stay tuned!” Perhaps a TikTok account is on the cards? His attempt to ban the platform last year won’t have done him any favours.

Whatever his next move turns out to be, one thing for sure, it won’t be to start a Theresa May fanclub. Writing in The Spectator, Piers Morgan revealed that, after sharing with Trump that Theresa May gets paid £100,000 a pop for speeches, he “exploded with laughter” spluttering: “Are you kidding me? I’d pay £100,000 not to hear her talk!” The feeling’s probably mutual.
