On Monday evening, Andrew Neil resigned as Chairman of GBNews and confirmed the universally expected end of the 8pm show he had briefly anchored for the channel. Talking with his Reaction colleague Maggie Pagano, Tim Montgomerie argues that the many establishment sneerers and naysayers are going to be disappointed if they think this is the beginning of the end of this insurgent news channel. Tim and Maggie both argue that the channel needs to become weightier and more substantial but agree it will likely become a major force in centre right politics. Tim and Maggie suspect the proposed end of the £20 uplift could be a MUCH bigger problem for the government than the controversies over Covid passports and last week’s NI rise.
