Ministers and medical experts have clashed over whether it is necessary to vaccinate healthy 12 to 15-year-olds against Covid-19 following the UK vaccine advisory body’s decision to refuse to give the go-ahead.
The row broke out after the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation decided today to recommend that it is unnecessary to vaccinate the three million or so healthy children in this age bracket because there are only “marginal benefits”.
