Every household in Britain is to receive hundreds of pounds off their energy bills in the government’s ÂŁ15 billion rescue package to help ease the cost of living crunch.
After months of wrangling over strategy, Rishi Sunak finally announced a support package which will distribute ÂŁ400 to every household irrespective of income, but a payment of ÂŁ650 to those who are means-tested and receiving benefits. In addition, pensioners on low incomes will be offered ÂŁ300 alongside the Winter Fuel Payment.
