Every household in Britain is to receive hundreds of pounds off their energy bills in the government’s £15 billion rescue package to help ease the cost of living crunch.

After months of wrangling over strategy, Rishi Sunak finally announced a support package which will distribute £400 to every household irrespective of income, but a payment of £650 to those who are means-tested and receiving benefits. In addition, pensioners on low incomes will be offered £300 alongside the Winter Fuel Payment.
