The long-awaited privileges committee report has found that Boris Johnson committed “repeated contempts” of parliament in his denials of wrongdoing during the partygate scandal.
The report would have recommended a 90-day suspension – an unprecedented length of suspension, because he was PM – but since Johnson has already stepped down, the report instead suggested that he should not be given a former members’ pass.
