The latest opinion poll suggests that 57% of Scottish voters would vote to leave the United Kingdom. That is 3% up from an earlier poll which showed that 54% were in favour. It now looks, therefore, as if Nichola Sturgeon is heading for a landslide in next year’s Scottish elections. She would undoubtedly take such a victory as a mandate for holding another referendum. Boris Johnson would find such a demand hard to resist.
