Brexiteers may be watching with suspicion and dismay as Keir Starmer, the fanatical Remainer who wanted Britain to vote a second time on leaving the European Union (and to come up with the correct answer when revisiting the polling stations), has made no delay in initiating his scheme for a “reset” (code for regression) in UK relations with the EU. Their suspicion is well justified, but not their dismay. Starmer is courting the EU at precisely the time when its moribund condition, on the analogy of Joe Biden’s mental incapacity, can no longer be concealed.
